Lois Robertson became interested in the world of herbs in her young teen years when she was first introduced to Plantain and it’s many uses. In the early 1980’s, living in Northern California, she attended Rosemary Gladstar’s herb school, California School of Herbal Studies. After moving to Washington State with her husband and three children in 1986, she became an educator in the public school system. After 15 years, she changed her focus and graduated at the top of her class from Inland Massage Institute, and ended up teaching massage therapy at the Institute for several years. She presently owns and operates Cedar Mountain Massage Therapy, Inc. since 1999, specializing in medical massage, and Cedar Mountain Medicinals, where she creates and sells many of her herbal products.
Most recently, Lois journeyed to Costa Rica to study the natural medicines in the rainforest with Rosemary Gladstar and other herbalists. She is a graduate of “The Science and Art of Herbalism” and became a certified herbalist. She is also a graduate of “The International School of Herbal Arts and Sciences Herbal Academy” and traveled to Sage Mountain Herbal Retreat in Vermont to complete the course “The Art and Ecstasy of Teaching (Herbalism)”. She is presently enrolled in the year long course, “The Art and Science of Plant Medicine Making” with Thomas Easley, director of The Eclectic School of Herbal Medicine.
Lois is teaching a variety of workshops and classes throughout the area and her classes have been popular.
Lois is also a Board of Commissioner for Newport Hospital and Health Services and hopes to continue to serve her community. She is also a photographer, gardener, loves to read, but most of all, spend time with her family, children, and many grandchildren.
